York Foundation Inc., a non-profit, charitable organization was established in 2006 to offer financial support to the York Care Centre in its goal to become a Centre of Excellence. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life and care of residents at York Care Centre by receiving, managing, and raising funds to provide; care programs, research and development, education for staff and raise funds for capital equipment for York Care Centre that could not be achieved otherwise.

We have been engaged in a number of fundraising events including a fashion show, a golf tournament and the Excellence in Aging Care Symposium. Currently we are involved in our Transforming Care Campaign and are raising much needed funds through a series of events and donations from community members. Some of the initiatives being funded by this campaign include the establishment of the Atlantic Institute on Aging, enhancement of rehabilitation services, the creation of a health day centre program for seniors which will reach out into our community and dedication of space for a spiritual care centre.
